The Wind and The Sun
There is an old folk tale about a man walking across a moor on his way home when the wind happened to notice him.
"Do you see that man down there?" The wind asked the sun. "Yes, I see him." The sun replied. "I'll bet you that I can get him to remove his coat before you can." "Be my guest!"
Slowly at first, the wind began to blow. The man turned up his collar and walked on. The wind blew harder. The man gripped his collar with one hand and his hat with the other and walked on. Still the wind blew harder sending dust and leaves high into the air. The man braced himself and continued on his way. No matter how hard the wind tried it could not put the man off his course, nor could it get him to remove his jacket. Finally, totally exhausted, the wind gave up.
"May I try?" The Sun asked. "By all means."
As the wind began to die down, so the sun began to shine. The heavily clouded sky was gradually replaced by a sky of deepest blue and the day grew warmer. The sun watched as the man loosened his grip on his coat and then undid the buttons. The sun smiled and shone some more, at which the man removed his coat, threw it over his shoulder and, lengthening his stride, continued on his way whistling a merry tune.
Gentleness and not wrath had won the day. When faced with a difficult situation, which route will you take.
